Grundarfjördur Hostel Directions

Directions:

By Bus:
There are daily buses to/from Reykjavik, Stykkishólmur and Ólafsvík to Grundarfjördur.

The bus stop is walking distance from the Hostel, and is located at the petrol station, right in front of the information centre.

By Car:
Grundarfjordur is about two hours drive from Reykjavik central in Snaefellsnes.

Shorter, less scenic route:
From Reykjavik take road Nr. 1 north.  Just after Borgarnes turn left on road Nr. 54 to Snaefellsnes.  Once you arrive in  Vegamót, take road Nr. 56 over the mountain pass to Grundarfjördur.

Longer, more scenic route:
From Vegamót carry on with road Nr. 54 to Arnastapi which will take you through the National Park on the edge of the peninsula and past Ólafsvík to Grundarfjördur.
